It's another beautiful Sabbath day. AND it's Independence Day weekend! Two mornings ago my younger sister, Rebecca had her little baby boy, Paul Corson Hasler, who was born naturally on his due date at 8 in the morning, at 8lbs 1oz. Yesterday I chatted with Rebecca and got to hear the baby crying for a brief moment in the background before he fell asleep. We talked for about an hour. She told me about her labor experience and how quickly and unexpectedly it had gone. I told her about how emotional it made me to see his cute little face in pictures. It is almost as though he already knew the people and situation he was being placed in-- the way his blue eyes scanned the faces around him and he listened, and I couldn't help but feel that Risa must have been very present. Rebecca said he smiled when he heard her voice and knew instinctively that she is his mother. I am overjoyed to be an aunt. I only wish I had gone with Railee to go to the family reunion where everybody is right now. I'm feeling the hurt of being poor, but it is an independence I need. I will hopefully see them all at least by September during my break. Until then I admire those cute pictures and long to be there!

So here is my first post! I am excited to be part of the great wide blogging network. Been spending most of this Sabbath day working on my English Profile paper. It's a big one. I just interviewed a really successful entrepreneur. Sat down with him face-to-face. Should be exciting. Don't worry. There will be better stuff later. I'm a huge writer. Just thought I'd get set up and say hi!
